Scott Johnson is a New Orleans-based saxophonist, bandleader, clinician, and music educator.

As an educator, Scott taught at Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, for six years, eventually serving as Director of Bands and Cluster Leader for the district. He is currently the jazz band director at Warren Easton Charter School in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to his teaching duties, Scott has presented masterclasses on best practices for successful band directing and has served on several boards focused on bridging the gap between college and careers in music education.

Since moving to New Orleans, Scott has established himself as an active saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and sideman in the vibrant city's music scene. His original works have been commissioned by ensembles such as Neonautica, as well as universities throughout the country. Scott has performed at major festivals and venues across the United States and internationally, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, the Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the Wassermusik Festival in Berlin, Germany. In 2018, Scott headlined the P-Town Jazz Festival in Plano, Texas, and in 2021, he headlined part one of the Alcorn Jazz Festival in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Scott is a regular member of Delfeayo Marsalis' Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Chris Alford and the Golden Beacon, the New Orleans Saxophone Quartet, Alexey Marti & AfroGumbo, Pat Casey and the New Sound, and NOLA Juice's band. He has also performed and shared the stage with artists including Ra Kalam Bob Moses, Lauryn Hill, Bobby Watson, The Temptations, George Colligan, and Billy Porter.

In addition to performing, Scott remains an active clinician and music educator throughout Mississippi, Texas, and the greater New Orleans area. He has also recently received an Artist/Educator endorsement from Cannonball Saxophones, as well as an endorsement from D'Addario.
